Weak hypergraph regularity and linear hypergraphs

چکیده
We consider conditions which allow the embedding of linear hypergraphs of fixed size. In particular, we prove that any k-uniform hypergraph H of positive uniform density contains all linear k-uniform hypergraphs of a given size. More precisely, we show that for all integers ` ≥ k ≥ 2 and every d > 0 there exists % > 0 for which the following holds: if H is a sufficiently large kuniform hypergraph with the property that the density of H induced on every vertex subset of size %n is at least d, then H contains every linear k-uniform hypergraph F with ` vertices. The main ingredient in the proof of this result is a counting lemma for linear hypergraphs, which establishes that the straightforward extension of graph εregularity to hypergraphs suffices for counting linear hypergraphs. We also consider some related problems.

Eigenvalues and Quasirandom Hypergraphs
Let p(k) denote the partition function of k. For each k ≥ 2, we describe a list of p(k) − 1 quasirandom properties that a k-uniform hypergraph can have. Our work connects previous notions on hypergraph quasirandomness, beginning with the early work of Chung and Graham and Frankl-Rödl related to strong hypergraph regularity, the spectral approach of Friedman-Wigderson, and more recent results of...

We define a new combinatorial object, which we call a labeled hypergraph, uniquely associated to any square-free monomial ideal. We prove several upper bounds on the regularity of a square-free monomial ideal in terms of simple combinatorial properties of its labeled hypergraph. We also give specific formulas for the regularity of square-free monomial ideals with certain labeled hypergraphs. Fu...

A measure-theoretic approach to the theory of dense hypergraphs Abstract In this paper we develop a measure-theoretic method to treat problems in hypergraph theory. Our central theorem is a correspondence principle between three objects: An increasing hypergraph sequence, a measurable set in an ultraproduct space and a measurable set in a finite dimensional Lebesgue space. Using this correspond...

Thomason and Chung, Graham and Wilson were the first to systematically study quasirandom graphs and hypergraphs and showed that several properties of random graphs imply each other in a deterministic sense. In particular, they showed that ε-regularity from Szemerédi’s regularity lemma is equivalent to their concepts. Over recent years several hypergraph regularity lemmas were established. In th...
